For this project, I decided I wanted to do something different. I wanted to make something that I would potentially use, something that aligned with my interests. I ended up with “Workout Logger”, a site you could use to enter in your workouts and add all the exercises that were included in that workout.
I had a lot of different ideas for my CLI data gem portfolio project but I decided to keep it simple and make a gem that scrapes information about dog breeds from “https://dogtime.com”. Scraping the information off this site was quite simple.
From a very young age I was exposed to computers. Born in 1990, my dad always had custom computers in the house, and one of my earliest memories is playing a text based DOS game with my parents help at around 3 years old. As I got older, I became more and more fascinated with the seemingly limitless possibilities that computers held. Software is what truly made these computers come to life!
